Traffic Stop Leads to Felon’s Arrest and Firearm Seizure with Assistance from K-9 Ghost

On November 29, 2025, at approximately 9:44 p.m., an officer of the Santa Rosa Police Department conducted a traffic stop on the 2700 block of Corby Avenue for speeding. The driver was determined to be on probation with search conditions that included his residence on the 6000 block of Montecito Boulevard.

During a probation search of the residence, K9 “Ghost” was called to assist. K9 Ghost is specifically trained to detect firearms. Ghost alerted to a bedroom closet. Officers subsequently located a loaded Glock 19 9mm firearm with an extended magazine. The suspect is a convicted felon and is prohibited by law from possessing firearms. The suspect was subsequently arrested for multiple firearm related charges.

This case is yet another example of the Santa Rosa Police Department’s commitment to proactive enforcement and community safety
