K9 Ghost Assists in Gun Recovery

On January 11, 2026, at about 3:44 PM, Santa Rosa Police responded to a report of a man brandishing a firearm in the 800 Block of Sonoma Avenue.
The victim, a food delivery driver, told officers the suspect displayed a black handgun in his waistband and asked if there was a problem. The confrontation occurred as the victim was moving his vehicle from the suspect's parking spot after completing a delivery.
Officers identified the suspect and established a React Team with the assistance of K9 Ghost. The suspect was safely taken into custody without incident.
A search warrant was obtained for the residence.
K9 Ghost assisted with the search. Ghost alerted to a laundry basket in the main bedroom, where officers located a loaded Glock 23.40 caliber handgun hidden under clothes. Officers also found an unloaded Alpha Precision Works APW-15 multical .223 caliber rifle in a rifle box in the living room. Both firearms were registered to the suspect.
The suspect was subsequently arrested for brandishing a firearm and firearm related charges.
