K9 Ghost assists SRPD SET officers to recover a loaded firearm and narcotics during vehicle contact

On Saturday, November 22, 2025, at approximately 7:45 p.m., SRPD Officers assigned to the Special Enforcement Team (SET) contacted the occupants of a vehicle parked at 2226 Cleveland Avenue. Prior to the contact, the officers observed the occupants of the vehicle engaged in a suspected narcotics deal. The driver of the vehicle was contacted and advised he was being detained. A passenger in the vehicle was also detained. An SRPD K-9 Officer, along with his K-9 partner Ghost, responded to assist with the investigation.

Ghost alerted to the front driver area of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle pursuant to probable cause yielded a loaded, 9 mm Glock 43X pistol. The pistol had mismatched serial numbers. Both subjects were prohibited from owning or possessing firearms. In addition to the pistol, approximately 80 grams of suspected methamphetamine packaged for sales was also located. The baggies were located in two separate hidden compartment containers. Additional evidence related to narcotics sales was also found in the vehicle.

Both subjects were arrested for drug and firearm related charges.
