During a recent traffic stop, Officer Gonzales observed a potential weapon in the driver’s seat of a vehicle, prompting further investigation. Upon asking the driver to step out, a pat-down revealed that the individual was a convicted felon aware that he was prohibited from possessing firearms.

Officer Gonzales-Campos then deployed his K9 partner, Ghost, for an open-air sniff of the vehicle. Ghost quickly alerted near the driver’s seat, leading to a consensual search. Officers located a concealed and unregistered semi-automatic SKS-style rifle inside the vehicle.
The driver was arrested on multiple firearm-related charges. This arrest highlights the effectiveness of our K9 teams in keeping our community safe. Great work, Ghost!
