On Friday, March 14, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., SRPD Officers assigned to the Special Enforcement Team (SET) along with K9 Ghost served a search warrant in the 1300 block of Berrydale Drive in Petaluma. The search warrant was related to an ongoing investigation regarding illegal weapons possession. During the search, a stolen .357 magnum Ruger revolver was located along with a loaded .25 auto pistol and suspected narcotics. Some of the narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and the .25 auto pistol were accessible to children in the residence.

2 adults were arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Jail for various Felony and Misdemeanor charges.
The SRPD K-9 Unit works closely with the Special Enforcement Team, which was created to address the rise in illegal firearm possession and the rise in gun violence in the City of Santa Rosa.
