On October 7, 2025, SRPD officers responded to a stabbing on Third Street where a 26-year-old man was found with a stab wound and transported to the hospital. The suspect fled but was quickly located downtown, where Officer Vercelli and K9 Rocco apprehended him after a foot pursuit. He was booked for attempted murder and an outstanding felony warrant.
